Award winning magician and illusionist available in Malta and the world over. Providing Close up magic, stage illusions and parlour magic for corporate events, weddings, resorts, cruise ships, fairs, exhibitions and private venues.
24 Days have passed since the start of the year and Brian has already performed several shows for various events even at such an early stage of the year. The year looks promising for Brian.
Several Wedding events are already planned and booked and further opportunities with new clients from all over the world have been scheduled. With already such a tight schedule planned ahead this year, very few openings are available for Brian to take on other work, so it would be best to get in contact as soon as possible.
After a 2 week break, the first show at the Chamber of Mysteries has taken off and now the show will be on a regular schedule. There will be a special show, “Love is in the Air…One More Time!” put on for Valentine’s Day at the Chamber of Mysteries. The show was put on in 2015 and in 2016 and were both sold out. This year we expect nothing less as the show is already 2/3 full. More details can be discovered if you read here: Valentine’s Day at The Chamber of Mysteries Malta
Just a few days ago Valletta officially became the European Cultural Capital 2018. Valletta 2018 kicked off with a great start. A fantastic ceremony opened up the forthcoming year that is expected to be full of entertaining, artistic and cultural events, not only in Valletta but across the Maltese Islands. Perhaps you may catch Brian somewhere in one of these events!
It’s almost the last minute of the 1st day of December and we are only just 30 days away from turning a new leaf. Before that, let’s look back at what happened during the past 11 months for our Magician in Malta.
This year has been fantastic for Brian, not only because of earning the I.M.S. Merlin Award but also because of the full schedule of performances in Malta and abroad.
Just last week, EVE.COM.MT featured a fantastic interview with Brian, where he went into dept about what, and why, he offers to audiences and clients engaging his services. If you have not had the time to read it and fancy a good insight of Brian’s vision, then why not take a few minutes out of your time and read it here.
Summer was packed with eventful events all over the islands for many of the top iGaming companies situated in Malta, who often engage Brian as their favorite entertainer to amaze their prestigious guests. Just recently Brian spent two whole days performing, representing PAYR at the SIGMA17 in Malta.
The number of people attending the shows held at the Chamber of Mysteries also exceeded last year’s amount and more people came to witness this unique event held in Malta on a regular weekly basis throughout the year.
Apart from that, there were the performances in the hotels spread across Malta where Brian and Lola perform and keep performing to date. There was much more to that, TV appearances, performances at wedding events, special appearances during other events and lots of private engagements in homes or other venues.
Starting from today Brian is opening up the staff party season with a full schedule spread across December and going into the early weeks of January 2018. We hope you are one of those who got to or will get to see the Magician in Malta perform before the end of the year!
Throughout my life of performing, I have travelled quite a bit in my life and have experienced many places and things that have really widened my perspective on life. I also had the pleasure of staying in some places so luxurious that I would have never imagined that I would have ever had the opportunity to stay in and also some that I have have chosen myself.
During my travels, most of my hotel stays are booked by the companies that engage me. There is still quite a bit that are booked by myself out of necessity, like this one I am in at the moment.
Honestly, this one comes straight out of a Hitchcock Movie. The hotel is well maintained and everyone seems to be very helpful here, however seems to be stuck back in time. The main reason I booked this hotel is because because it is very close to the station I need to travel from early in the morning, so it was ideal and convenient, but is it the wisest choice?
Although outdated, the room is clean and maintained well. The bathroom though, reminds me of a famous scene from a classic masterpiece. Here’s that legendary scene from that famous movie below:
What is amusing me the most though, is the key they actually give you. I have forgotten the last time I was actually given an actual Key to a hotel room. I am not talking about a magnetic card, or a Tag or a code key. No this hotel still provides actual keys to the rooms and the key is hung upon a particular looking key ring. A particular shape that probably won’t fit nicely in my trouser’s pocket without attracting some attention.
Could this be a well thought of crafty ploy so guests don’t take the key out with them in case they may loose it? Take a look a the picture below and make up your own mind. Hopefully you’ll hear from me again, if I manage to survive this experience 🙂 To see if I do, follow me on my Facebook Page

The imagination of adults and children alike were struck by the defiance of all logic when the impossible happened in their hands, under their noses and right in front of their eyes. apart from science magic shows, Brian is able to theme a magical show to suit any other subject of interest.
Today’s date is 31st October 2016 and the current time is 19:26 here in Malta. Take note that in Detroit the current time is 13:26.It is also, exactly on this day and time, 90 years ago in 1926 (which year happens to be the current time in Malta now 19:26), that Harry Houdini died aged 52 in Room 401 at Detroit’s Grace Hospital at 13:26 (Detroit time).
However it is not surprising that even after all these years, people of all ages have heard of the name Harry Houdini. It is exactly for this, that the man has become a legend and the name a legacy, a legacy that has left behind a great deal of riches amongst magicians of our days.
Houdini was born on March the 24th, 1874 in Hungary and died on the Halloween October 31, 1926. He joined his family during their immigration to America, where in later years he would find fame and fortune starting off as a magician in vaudeville and becoming world known for his sensational escape acts from straitjackets whilst hung from skyscrapers, escapes from boxes under water or sealed in milk cans filled to the brim with water. He is better known for his aquarium escape, the illusion that many wrongly believe killed Houdini.
Houdini also had a passion for film and tried his hand at several movies, but this failed to bring in money. He also was a keen aviator who’s aim had become the first man to fly a plane in Australia.
His life was a mysterious one, he married his wife Bess, shortly after meeting her in Coney Island, where he was performing as a magician together with his brother Dash and she was a dancer in the dance troupe. Bess eventually replaced Dash in the act, and from then on, Bess worked as his stage assistant.
Houdini became famous for performing modern illusions for the times he lived in and of course outrages dangerous stunts. He became a worldwide phenomenon performing the world over. He was an expert at reaching out to peoples across the seas, even at a time when social media did not exist and the only means of news were the papers.
The story behind the illusions and stunts that Houdini performed is much more amazing than the actual illusions themselves. Although he did not create many of the illusions he performed, he did however create various methods to perform them.
Harry Houdini died of peritonitis, which is believed to have been aggravated by an incident that took place in Houdini’s dressing room. It is speculated that Houdini’s death was caused by a University student, who repeatedly struck Houdini’s abdomen as Houdini would often have this performed on him as a stunt. However Houdini was had broken his ankle while performing several days earlier and at the time was reclining on a couch and not in the correct position for this kind of stunt.
Although in great pain Houdini went on to perform that evening and remained in pain for the next two days not seeking any medical assistance. When a doctor finally examined Houdini, he was advised to immediately seek surgery but Houdini ignored this advice since he had a show that evening. That show was Houdini’s last performance, passing out during the show. After the show, Houdini was admitted to hospital, where he died two days after.
Houdini’s death sparked off something else, that to prove or debunk being able to communicate with the dead. He discovered that many mediums of the time, claiming to be able to make contact with the dead, were actually fake and frauds, using tricks to fake materialism of spirits and communication with spirits. He went on to expose their devious methods after trying to make contact with his deceased mother through them. But proved to be able to do this, and those that apparently did, used tricks and illusions of the time.
Houdini carried on with this obsession until his last days, debunking and exposing medium and spiritualists around the world, hoping to find a genuine case where he could make contact with his mother. Before dying Houdini and Bess devised a secret code which was meant to be used as a sign between them that life after death exists. For 10 years after Houdini’s death, Bess held a seance on the eve of Halloween, hoping that Houdini would make contact with the secret code. It is believed that this never occurred, but only Bess knew the truth.
Harry Houdini and the legacy we can’t touch
I do not know if Houdini did get in touch with Bess after his death and I do not know if he really possessed supernatural powers as some had believed. However I do believe that he had the ability to pass on his legacy of unique methodology across a wide spectrum of magic, many of which magicians and illusionist utilise to this very day. Whether it is escaping from a box under water, performing a card trick, inducing thoughts into a person’s mind or simply reading a spectators mind, it is he who created the modern magician.
Brian was proud to be Casino Malta’s guest star performing his magic during a fantastic set of live performances throughout another successful night of magic.
Magic at Casino Malta
The stage was set so that patrons were able to experience, at close quarters, some amazing feats of magic and illusion. Invited to come closer, to feel and touch things that transformed under their noses, vanished in front of their eyes and things that changed whilst held in their hands.
At least 100 people experienced the intimate magic during several sets that were ongoing throughout the evening. Many others overlooked the event while Brian mesmerized, amazed and entertained all those around.
